President Trump Receives Regeneron Treatment

It has been known that the world has been rocked by the news that the most powerful man on the planet has also tested positive for COVID-19. President Trump was admitted to Walter Reed National Medical Centre, the world’s largest military medical centre, with significant symptoms of COVID-19.

Dr Christos Kyratsous, Vice-President of research infectious diseases and the viral sector at Regeneron, explains the long development process at Regeneron of a cocktail of two very potential monoclonal antibodies – called Therapy Regeneron Cough II – that is binding on the surface of the virus and prevents the virus from infecting other cells. President Trump’s medical team has requested Regeneron to provide these two antibodies.

What has been announced so far is the data from the group of people that are positive of COVID-19 but not yet hospitalized, where the administration of the antibodies leads to a pronounced drop of viral load. The next point from Regeneron is conducting very rigorous testing in the clinical trials to see how this cocktail drug works and which are the patients that can benefit from it.
