Discover the Strategy and Ambition of the American Rhinologic Society
This show is all about the American Rhinologic Society’s aims aspirations and challenges. It all started in 1954 when the American Rhinologic Society was founded by Maurice Cottle focused initially on the evaluation and treatment of problems related to the nasal septum and external bony pyramid however it evolved to include later the evaluation and management of paranasal sinus problems. Over the last 60 years, the membership at the American Rhinologic Society has grown dramatically and the remit is constantly changing.
Professor Joseph Han, Head of Rhinology and Endoscopic Sinus & Skull Base Surgery in Virginia, USA, has been able to shape society with the ambition to achieve patient-oriented care for the management of sinusitis. Professor Robert Kern, Head of Otolaryngology & Head and Neck Surgery at the Feinberg School of Medicine in Chicago, USA, claims that the biggest challenges in the field of rhinology are how to incorporate these new medications that are coming available for sinusitis, how long are they treated, how can we relate them to the other treatments that have been used for years.
