Allergen immunotherapy: Can asthma prevention be achieved?

Rhinology Future Debates Brussels 2017

Prevention of asthma in patients with allergic rhinitis can be achieved however there is no generic class effect so experts in the field cannot confirm that all products in AIT can reach this goal. The evidence shows an imperfection so far but there is a long-term study by Mola, by looking into allergen immunotherapy in children with grass pollen allergy ensuring that those who received therapy were less likely to develop asthma.

These interviews were recorded during the Rhinology Future Debates Brussels 2017 with Oliver Pfaar, David Price, and Glenis Scadding.
